$5 and $10 notes of the Banco de Guanajuato

The bank issued its first notes on 29 October 1900, being $120,500 in $5, $10, $20 and $100 values. It then issued a further $179,500 in the same four values on 26 December 1900, to make a total of $300,000Informe of Interventor J. J. Farías, 30 January 1901 in Memoria de las Instituciones del Crédito, 190 .

Counterfeits

These appeared to have been counterfeited. In January 1931 the Comité Liquidador de los Antiguos Bancos de Emisión referred $2,250 in $10 notes to the Jefatura de Policia in the Federal District, as they had been declared by their experts as counterfeitsAGN, SC226 Comisión Monetaria, caja 77 letter of Alfonso Labastida, 3 January 1931
