Incinerations

After the Banco Oriental de México absorbed the Banco de Chiapas in June 1909 the manager of the latter bank, Enrique del Valle, was instructed to gather together all the bank’s notes and conduct them to the Estación de JaliscoActa núm. 4, 31 July 1909, AGN, SC224 Antiguos Bancos de Emisión, caja 1125, libro 1914(?). On 10 August 1909 the manager reported that he had handed over, inter alia, $338,655 in Banco de Chiapas notes (and $11, 630 in Banco de Oaxaca notes)Acta núm. 5, 10 August 1909, AGN, SC224 Antiguos Bancos de Emisión, caja 1125, libro 1914(?). These probably formed part of the 9 December incineration.
