50c sábanas

The rarer 50c is also known with different printer’s imprint, different abbreviations for ‘Número’ and different sized numerals.

The sequence appears to have been as follows. The first issue had 'SERIE B' and 'NUM'. on the plate, and had either two large or two small serial numbers.

Next, the serial letter 'A' was added to 'SERIE B', and 'No.' to the lefthand, small number.

Then the 'B' was removed from the plate. The next series had either two large or one small and one large number.

Next, 'NUM.' was removed and the notes had 'No.' 'No.' and two large numbers. Sometimes the first 'No.' was in italics.

Revalidations

These 50c notes were revalidated in accordance with the Convention's decree of 17 December 1914. By 3 May 1915 a paltry 1,462 notes, totalling $731, had been revalidatedLa Convención, 3 May 1915.

This note does not have the regular REVALIDADO overprint.

Later 50c notes

The 25c sábanas that were printed in the second half of 1915 were to the same design as earlier sábanas, but when the Tesorería General produced more 50c notes they used a new design, mirroring the later dos caritas.
