A series supposedly authorized by a decree of 1 September 1914[text needed]. and with the imprimateur of Carranza (the notes have the legend “Esta emisión está autorizada por el Primer Jefe del Ejército Constitucionalista, Encargado del Poder Ejecutivo de la Nación” on the reverse).
However, there seems to be no mention of a 1 September decree or the subsequent issue and it was never acknowledged or mentioned by Carranza, for example in his circular núm. 10, so if this issue was ever made it might have been a local issue by a military commander (but why, then, entitle it 'Estado de Coahuila'and have an Interventor and Tesorero as signatories?).
Carranza did authorise the state of Durango to continue to issue its own notes on 2 June 1914 (confirmed on 24 June) but on 19 September he authorised the Gobierno Provisional de México issue of $130,000,000, partly to redeem earlier Constitutionalist issues. So the timing is suspect.
Given that the vignette on the $1 and $10 notes is similar to (copied from?) that on an Estado de Durango series from 1915 and the whole series imitates Durango notes, and that no signed, numbered, issued examples are known these might be fantasies.
