Gobierno Provisional de México Veracruz $5 notes

All were Series B and dated 1 December 1914.

(1) The first had imprint 'MEXICO OFICINA DEL GOBIERNO', title' EL S. S. ENCARGADO DEL SRIA. DE HACIENDA', underprint Type 1, and small '5's on the reverse. 

These had an oval seal on the reverse.

(2a) Later types had title 'EL O. M. ENCARGADO DEL SRIA. DE HACIENDA'. Some had underprint Type 1.

(2b) Others had underprint Type 2.

(3) Another group had the suffix 'A' after the serial number and large ‘5’s on the reverse.

(4) Another type had imprint 'OFICINA DEL GOBIERNO', title 'EL O. M. ENCARGADO DEL SRIA. DE HACIENDA', underprint Type 2, and small '5's on the reverse.

(5) Finally, one type, which might be counterfeit (type 2), had imprint 'OFICINA DEL GOBIERNO', title 'EL O. M. ENCARGADO DEL SRIA. DE HACIENDA', underprint Type 2, and large '5's on the reverse.

All later notes appear to have a scalloped seal.

Anastasio Rojas, in his report, records that up to 30 April 1915 the Oficina Impresora de Billetes in Veracruz had printed 1,926,800 $5 notes (115,000 in December 1914, 209,000 in January 1915, 16,000 in February, 565,800 in March and 1,021,000 in April). The “Marinoni” press had produced 307,500 notes, the “Miguelena” press 266,175 notes and 31,698 notes were still in the office (listed in Folio y Corte). After acknowledging 1,198,000 notes printed in Mexico City, this left 2,269,827 notes to make up the decreed sum of $30,000,000^{CEHM, Fondo-XXI, carpeta 39, legajo 4265}.
