Gobierno Provisional de México Veracruz $2 notes

All these notes are Series G and are dated 5 February 1915. There are three types (and a further subtype).

(1) These had imprint 'OFICINA DEL GOBIERNO', title 'P.O. DEL SECRETARIO El SUBSCRETARIO', underprint Type 1 and flat base '2's on both front and reverse.

(2a) These had imprint 'OFICINA DEL GOBIERNO', title 'P.O. DEL SECRETARIO El SUBSCRETARIO', underprint Type 2 with a green underprint and flat base '2's on both front and reverse.

(2b) These had imprint 'OFICINA DEL GOBIERNO', title 'P.O. DEL SECRETARIO El SUBSCRETARIO', underprint Type 2 with a yellow underprint and flat base '2's on both front and reverse.

(3) These had imprint 'MEXICO OFICINA DEL GOBIERNO', title 'P.O. DEL SRIO. EL S.S', underprint Type 1 with curved base '2's on both front and reverse. These are the notes that were printed by the Parsons Trading Company in New York.

Anastasio Rojas, in his report, records that up to 30 April 1915 the Oficina Impresora de Billetes in Veracruz had printed 285,000 $2 notes (200,000 in February 1915 and 85,000 in March). A further 9,000,000 had been printed by the Parsons Trading Company in New York. Finally the “Madero” press had produced 308,573 and the “Tórculos” press 76,500 notes, and 329,927 notes were still in the office^{149,927 in Folio y Corte and 180,000 in Revisión y Entrega}, making up the decreed sum of $20,000,000^{CEHM, Fondo-XXI, carpeta 39, legajo 4265}.
