SanchezGertrudis G. Sánchez was born in Saltillo, Coahuila on 14 October 1883. He worked on the hacienda of Agua Nueva, where he gained the confidence of Francisco and Emilio Madero. Gustavo Figueroa was a close supporter of Sánchez.

On 12 December 1915 he went to visit General Murguía, commander of the Segunda División del Noroeste, in Queréndaro with proposals that Sánchez would disown the Convention and support the Constitutionalist cause but would not recognise Carranza as Primer Jefe of the Ejército Revolucionario. Because of the last Murguía refused. Figueroa tried to arrange a meeting between the two generals to sort out their differences but Sánchez was unable to attendEl Pueblo, 10 April 1916.

On 4 March the new Villista Governor, José I. Prieto, remarked that Sánchez had issued $1,237,000 and declared this issue null and void, on the grounds that to honour it would only deprive the state and enrich speculators.

Use in other states

However, these were used in neighbouring states. On 9 July 1915 when the Carrancistas arrived in Guanajuato, they put up notices that it was obligatory to accept notes of the Estado de Michoacán and of Obregon, which they had in large quantitiesCrispin Espinosa, Efemerides Guanajuatenses. They are also known with two revalidations from Guerrero.
