Withdrawal of first $10 notes
The bank put 40,000 of the first type of $10 note into circulation before deciding to withdraw them. By December 1902 it had withdrawn 32,200 and in the first half of 1903 another 1,657. On 2 March 1903 32,557 of these notes were incineratedInforme of interventor in Memoria de las Instituciones de Crédito, 1903. On 31 December 1903 4,643 notes still remained in circulation, so in the second half of 1903 another 1,500 had been withdrawnInforme of interventor in Memoria de las Instituciones de Crédito, 1903.

On 19 January 1918 it was reported that as soon as Adolfo Magnon, the president of the bank’s Consejo de Incautación returned from Mexico City the bank would incinerate $8,000,000 in notes in the bank’s strongroomEl Pueblo, 19 January 1918. The total value of the notes printed by the American Bank Note Company was $10,480,000, and the amount still in circulation in January 1918 was $2,492,775 so this "$8,000,000" must have included all the notes either withdrawn or never issued (214,000 $5, 50,000 $10, 3,000 $50, 10,000 $100, and 500 $500, a total of $2,970,000).
