Hacienda de Milpillas
Ramón Castañeda y Castañeda, owner of the Hacienda de Milpillas, was born at the hacienda on 30 August 1870. Supposedly, “in the exercise of his profession and in all the activities of his life, he always dedicated himself to the defense of the proletarian classes, against the abuses of dictatorial governments”. In 1909, he formed the Partido Antirreeleccionista to support the candidacy of Francisco I. Madero, and when Madero was assassinated, he attacked the Huerta government in the courts and in the press, for which he was persecuted.
In 1917 he was elected as deputy for the District of Tepatitlán to the Constitutional Assembly in Querétaro. When this parliamentary mission was over, he retired to private life, “exercising his profession as always with efficiency and honesty”.
He died on 1 March 1926.
The notes from his hacienda are known with counterfoils, and DelgadoRicardo Delgado, Las Monedas Jaliscienses durante la Epoca Revolucionaria, Guadalajara, 1938 list six different types for most of the lower values, thus:

These were model 4619, produced on 13 and 16 January 1914. The legend on the counterfoil reads '10 M-1-914-Juan Kaiser. Mod. 4619'.
