$100 notes of the Banco de Sonora
The 100 pesos note has the vignette of Hortensia Corral Velez while the main vignette is of a stock image from the ABNC entitled “Off the Harbor”. This is similar to Die Proof No. 121 “Clipper No. 2” of the British American Bank Note Company, of Ottowa, Canada.

In March 1911 an employee of Wells Fargo, W. A. Hawkins, stole 500 new $100 notes while transporting them from Hermosillo to MazatlánEl Paso Herald, 29 March 1911. Hawkins and his accomplice were arrested in Autlan, Jalisco and the $45,000 recovered returned via a circuitous route of Guadalajara, Mexico City, El Paso, Tucson and Nogales to HermosilloTucson Daily Citizen, 22 April 1911.
