Other mining companies

In his weekly gossip letter on 26 January 1914 D. S. Callard list eight Pachuca mining companies that were to issue vales using a common templateAHMM, Fondo Norteamericano, vol. 41, exp. 15, Dirección General, Correspondencia, Mar 1913 – Nov 1914 weekly gossip letter 26 January 1914. The notes of two of these are unknown. They might have abandoned the project or ultimately had all their notes recalled and destroyed.

Mina El Bordo

El Bordo subscribed for $10,000, the same amount as La Negociación San Rafael y Anexas and more than the La Compañía Minera y Beneficiadora de Marvillas y San Francisco (which in fact decided upon a different format) and La Negociación Minera Hacienda Grande, Purísima y Minas de Guadalupe y Anexas.

The Compañía Beneficiadora de Metales “La Unión S. A.” in Pachuca originally subscribed for just $500 in notes but on 12 February the American Book & Printing Company wrote to them to say that their 4,000 50c vales (Job No. 52733) had been sent on 7 February via Wells Fargo to the Compañía Real del Monte y Pachuca AHMM, Fondo Norteamericano, Sección Compañías Filiales y/o Subsidiarias 1842-1987, La Unión correspondencia 6 Jan 1913 – 24 May 1914, vol. 196, exp. 65.

1915

At a meeting of the company held in Mexico City on 23 February 1915 presided by Roberto Hay Anderson and attended by Joaquin Lorenz, Hugo Hahn, Emilio Bertier, Ignacio Alfaro and Ing. [ ]Narváez it was decided, because of the difficulties in paying workers caused by the lack of small change, to authorize an issue of cheques for 50c, $1, $5, $10 and $20 redeemable at the company’s offices in Mexico City (pagaderos en la caja de la Compañía en México)AHMM, Fondo Norteamericano, Sección Compañías Filiales y/o Subsidiarias 1842-1987, La Unión Libros de actas, vol. 180, exp. 7. At another meeting three days later presided by Roberto Hay Anderson and attended by Joaquin Lorenz, Pedro D. de Azcué, Hugo Hahn, Emilio Bertier and Ignacio Alfaro the company made a similar resolution but this time for cheques of 50c, $1, $2, $5, $10 and $20AHMM, Fondo Norteamericano, Sección Compañías Filiales y/o Subsidiarias 1842-1987, La Unión Libros de actas, vol. 180, exp. 7.
