$50 and $100 notes of the Banco Peninsular Mexicano

For the two higher values the bank used notes of the Banco Mercantil de Yucatán, overprinted "Banco Peninsular Mexicano".

On 18 November 1909 the bank sought permission to put into circulation $1,000,000 in overprinted $50 and $100 Banco Mercantil de Yucatán notes, to replace an equal sum in Banco Yucateco notes that would be withdrawn from circulation. This was agreed to by the Secretaría de Hacienda on 15 December 1909Memoria de las Instituciones de Crédito, correspondiente al año 1909, vol II.
